Frequently asked questions about ENDONORM® preparation

In this section we publish the most frequently asked questions about ENDONORM® preparation. We strongly recommend You to get acquainted with its contents because probably the answers to Your questions are already given there.

I have been taking the hormonal medicines such as L-tiroxin and others every day for already more than 6 years. Recently I learned about Your ENDONORM®, I would like to buy and try it. But in the application recommendation is written that it is prohibited to take this preparation in combination with the hormones. What could you recommend in my case?

 Svetlana Pavlovna, Moscow

With application of ENDONORM® in common with hormonal preparations and antithyroid agents an inversion of drug-induced effect can be noticed. This can be explained by the fact that these preparations have different therapeutic target (application point). It is also of great importance that during the long lasting application of hormonal remedies (more than 2 years) the metabolism of the thyroid gland hormones changes. This organ becomes incapable of maintaining the normal endocrine profile.  In this respect the interruption of the hormonal remedies application is possible only with the doctor’s consent and under his supervision!! At the moment we have positively stated that ENDONORM® preparation is mostly effective on the early stages of thyroid gland diseases development, including the patients, who have been taking the hormonal preparations for a short period of time.

Good afternoon! I have several questions to You.

1) Could you please tell whether the nods in the thyroid gland are resolving during the ENDONORM® preparation application?

2) Can ENDONORM® be taken together with the contraceptive pills?

Angelina, Moscow oblast.

In the process of ENDONORM® preparation development and clinical tests it was established that during the regular application of ENDONORM® preparation the overall histological pattern improved, big nodes retracted and small nodes resolved. More information can be found here. The application of ENDONORM® preparation is not allowed in common with the hormonal thyroid gland preparations or antithyroid agents. There are no contraindications to ENDONORM® preparation application in common with hormonal contraceptives.

Hello!
How long is it necessary to take the
ENDONORM® preparation – lifelong or several courses?

Thank you!

Oksana, Perm

The number of courses and length of ENDONORM® preparation depends strictly on individual conditions of thyroid gland and severity of disease. In the initial stage and with medium severity of disease one or two courses are enough to return the thyroid gland to stable euthyroidic state. From that period on it is only necessary to take a preventive course annually.

In the severe states of disease a longer course of ENDONORM® preparation might be necessary (the decision on the second course must be taken on the basis of analysis results, taken after the completion of the first course etc)

More details about optimal doses and application schemes can be read here.

 Good afternoon, dear gentlemen!

The results of my treatment are: TSH - 30 (the norm is 0,4 - 4,0); fT3 6,12 (the norm is 2,8-6,5), fT4 11,0 (the norm is а 10,3-24,5).

I didn’t take the hormones (tiroxin) although they were prescribed.

The results after the 2 month of ENDONORM® preparation application 1 capsule 3 times a day: TSH - 122 (the norm is 0,4 - 4,0); fT3 5,31 the norm is 2,8-6,5), fT4 11,5 the norm is 10,3-24,5).

I am worried about the rapid increase in TSH level. Am I getting worse!?

What do you think, is it necessary for me to take another 2 month course?

Valeriya, Tallin

Good afternoon, You have a picture of primary subclinical hypothyroidism. The term “subclinical” literally means the lack of any clinical implications of a disease. It is characterized by the normal concentration of thyroid hormones (Т3 и Т4) with the higher level of thyrotropine (TSH). There could be several reasons for that, the main of which is the lowering of biological effect of the thyroid gland hormones on the tissue level, i.e. lack of T3 and T4 for the metabolic process even in case of its normal concentration in the blood. In case of Hashimoto's thyroiditis this happens because of thyrotropine hormones receptors breakdown, which are located in the target cells, weakening of concentration of ferments and proteins taking part in thyroid hormones metabolism. Your clinical picture is not new for us. Number of patients had increase or significant increase of TSH concentration in the blood. All the patients have continued the course of the preparation application. After 2-3 months of the mentioned effect discovery the level of TSH went back to normal without any additional interference. It should be mentioned that the majority of these patients were diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

In case of subclinical hypothyroidism the tyroid hormones are usually within the normal range. So there can not be any clinical implications from the organism. TSH is not a hormone; it does not bear any pharmaceutical effect, it is a prohormone, i.e. a substance, which regulates the production of other hormones. By its concentration the processes in organism are only judged.

We recommend You to continue the application of preparation; to make an additional hormonal tests in 3-6 months after the first discovery of the effect and make a final decision with your consulting physician on the basis of the test results.

 Good afternoon!

Several years ago I was diagnosed with hormone-dependent tumor; there was a course of chemotherapy and operation. At the present moment I take indol-3-carbinol, contained in vegetables of the Cruciferae family (broccoli, cultivated cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprout etc..), and they are mentioned in the contraindications. Why? And can I take indol-3-carbinol together with ENDONORM®?

Galina V., Chelyabinsk

Good afternoon, there are many works indicating the influence of some nutrients on the condition of the thyroid gland.

It was established that long consumption of plants of the Crusiferae family can lead to goiter formation. Soon the substances, responsible for this effect were extracted from the plants. The term goiter gene substances were introduced into medical practice, i.e. the bandings, which cause goiter formation. The plants of the Crusiferae family - cultivated cabbage, Brussels sprout, broccoli, turnip, rape, horse radish and some other contain thiocyanates, isothiocyanates (SCN) and other cyanogens. These substances are in competitive interaction with iodide, entering the organism, which leads to the development of the iodide deficit conditions and goiter correspondingly.

If you take a preparation, in which the indol-3-carbinol is in the form of purified substance, there are no risks for your thyroid gland. However if an extract (concentrate) of any plants of the Crusiferae family is contained in the medicine, it increases significantly the risk of iodide deficit conditions development, which can lead to “simple” goiter and other thyroid gland diseases.

My wife has low blood pressure. She has read that potentilla lowers blood pressure. Is it true? Why don’t you tell that?? And I also was told that it curdles blood, because it contains many tannins.

Rustam, Makhachkalla

Good afternoon.

1) You might mean that tachycardia and blood pressure increase is often noticed in case of thyrotoxicosis. And after the potentilla treatment these symptoms disappear. If you are talking about this effect, then yes, it can be claimed that this plant indirectly (not directly) lowers the arterial pressure. We bear no other information about the cases of arterial pressure lowering after potentilla application.

2) If by the tannin bandings you mean tannins than definitely not. Potentilla (and ENDONORM®) does not change the rheological properties of blood. Theoretically it is possible, if you take more than 10 g. of dry extract simultaneously or 200 ml. of potentilla alcoholate. Furthermore, in classification of toxic plants potentilla is included in the last group of low-toxic plants. It means that its adverse reactions are like food products have.
